The unit D on the Max-Planck area in Martinsried has been completely redeveloped and restructured. With the renewal of the laboratory floors and the installation of the data processing centre in the basement also a modern building control system on the roof was set up. The new roof structure was designed in steel structure as a frame construction. The exterior wall is made of an opaque industrial glazing with translucent insulation. The roof is a flat roof with sheet metal made of trapezoidal sandwich panels and bituminous roof seal with gravel cover.
