Laboratory building of the Max Planck Institute of Neurobiology in Martinsried
As part of the Economic Stimulus Package I, the roofs of the Max Planck Institute of Neurobiology on the Max Planck campus in Martinsried near Munich were renovated in terms of energy efficiency. The renovation measures were realized while the Institute remained fully operational.
The renovation comprised the following main elements:
- 3,000 sqm of additional insulation with 120 mm foam glass for meeting the EnEV 2009 requirements applicable to new buildings (German Energy Saving Ordinance)
- renewal of all atticconnections for a future facade insulation
- renewal of the protective gravel cover on the roof
- photovoltaic system
