Refurbishment and conversion of the research building at the EF Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry
The EF component on Max Planck campus in Martinsried, built as precast concrete construction in the 1970s, consists of the ground floor, three above-ground floors and a technology center on the roof. The floor plan is designed as a triple alliance with a central dark zone. The 3rd floor was renovated due to an interim use. In the course of the construction work, the windows were renewed and the HLS and ELT shafts were refurbished in terms of fire protection. The roof areas were renewed including insulation. For the energetic renovation, the sliding sash windows from the construction period were replaced with new window elements in accordance of ENEV 2009. In addition, all facade doors to the balconies were renewed. Not T30 / RS doors were replaced accordingly. The installation was partitioned horizontally in the south section, while the fire protection refurbishment of the shafts in the north section was carried out according to the vertical principle. The S1 laboratory areas were renovated and the isotope laboratory upgraded in terms of fire protection. The result are modern laboratories, offices and workplaces.
The measures were carried out during ongoing research operations on all other floors of the EF component.
