With the introduction of the new directors the southern wing of the first level of the unit Kraepelin at Max-Planck Medical Centre for Psychiatry at Munich-Schwabing has been alterated. The building was found at the turn of the century and is a listed building. Along the renovation of the first level the project also includes the redevelopment and the structural alteration of the existing laboratories which means an update of the equipment into best available technology.

The laboratory furniture was completely removed and after the renovation of the rooms by modern to the today's demands suitable, desks substituted. In some labs security workbenches and incubators as well as chill refrigerators and deep refrigerators were integrated. In addition, special measures were necessary concerning the office layout in the lab of the security step 2 as well as in the function, to cold storage rooms and storerooms for nitrogen and chemicals.

The work took place during ongoing research.
