The design concept for the single-family house located in a rural village close to Erding involved the combination of three buildings: the actual family house in the south, a garage with an adjacent workshop in the north, and a connecting transparent cube building with glass facades and a glass roof where the staircase and bathrooms are located.
The compact layout of the facade openings helped preserve large plaster surfaces even with the high proportion of glass used, thus ensuring the desired clear and unpretentious appearance of the building as well as a high thermal insulation value.
